CAPIZ
Capiz is a province in the Phillipines located in the Western Visayas region. Its capital city is Roxas City.
Capiz is known for the an oyster shell called Placuna placenta that locally has the same name and is used for making decorations, lampshades, trays, windows and doors.
Capiz is also known as the SEAFOOD CAPITAL of the Philippines and was among the top 15 most frequently visited places in the Philippines.
Capiz is also the site of the famous coral-stone church in the town of Pan-ay named Santa Monica Church, the home of the LARGEST Catholic church bell in Asia, which is made from 70 sacks of gold and silver coins donated by the townsfolk.
